Our studio clays come from Sheffield Pottery.
These unique formulas blend locally mined clay (from Berkshire County, MA) with other, more common clays, resulting in a distinct, high quality range of clay bodies.
All classes at Maine Clay include T-360 clay, a blend of coarse and fine clay grains that give a tight feel for wheel work. T-360 is a great beginner clay. With lots of body, walls are less likely to slump and it fires to a soft buff that responds nicely with a wide range of glazes.
Students and members are able to purchase different clay bodies at a discounted price.
