Join us for a beginner-friendly, two-hour workshop on the art of sgraffito!

Sgraffito is a pottery technique that involves scratching or carving designs into the surface of clay that has been coated with a contrasting color. This class is perfect for all skill levels, especially those who enjoy drawing, and will introduce you to this unique method of creating beautiful patterns on your pottery. Each student will receive a hand-thrown platter, ready for you to bring your creativity to life.

Our instructor will guide you through the sgraffito process, teaching you key techniques and explaining the different stages of clay dryness. After class, Maine Clay Collaborative will handle bisque and glaze firing your finished piece, so it's ready for use or display.

Participants must be 18 years or older to attend. However, teens aged 13-17 are welcome to join if accompanied by a participating adult.
